Srinagar: Clashes between protesters and government forces erupted in Hajin area of north Kashmirโ€™s Bandipora district on Tuesday after scores of youth pelted an army party with stones.

Witness told Kashmir Reader that clashes erupted at main market Hajin soon after a patrolling party of 13RR was coming back towards its camp and was pelted with stones by the protesters.

They added that as soon as the army patrolling party reached main market Hajin the youth pelted it with stones which led to clashes in the area.

Army personnel according to locals also went berserk and damaged the shops at the main market.

Talking to Kashmir Reader a senior Police official of the area said that army soldiers were on normal patrolling when some โ€œmiscreantsโ€ pelted them with stones however after few minutes the situation came to normal.

When asked about the vandalizing of shops the officer denied the allegation.
