Bengaluru, June 26 : BJP National President Amit Shah was invited to BJP Karnataka Working Committee meeting scheduled to be held in the City on June 29.
Disclosing this to media here on Tuesday, Opposition Leader in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly B S Yeddyurappa, who is also the BJP State President, said that he had been to Ahmadabad to invite
Mr Shah to the State Working Committee meeting to seek his advice and direction to chalk-out programmes in preparation of the party to win all the 25 seats in Karnataka in the Lok Sabha election due next year.
“Since I came to know that Mr Shah will be available in Ahamadabad, I went their with senior party leader Mr Basavaraj Bommai and invited him. He may come or he may depute somebody,” he added.
When asked about whether he discussed with Mr Shah about rift among the leaders in JDS-Coalition government in the State and BJP trying to take political advantage, Mr Yeddyurappa said that “the reports appearing in a section of the press and beamed by TV channels are far from truth. I met Mr Shah only to invite him and no other political issues were discussed.”
“Why should I try when they themselves have indulged in mud-slugging. Leaders of both the parties are making different statements every day on various subjects including presentation of fresh budget by Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and on Farmers Loan waiver issues. We are not interested and there is no need for us to take political advantage of the situation,” he added.
