Srinagar: In Accordance with the already announced program of “Naqshband Sahib Chalo” of the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) Hurriyat (M) chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Friday defied his house detention and tried to march towards Naqshband Sahib however he was arrested.

The call by JRL was given to commemorate the Martyrdom anniversary of the Martyrs of 13 July 1931 and to pay homage to all Martyrs of Kashmir.

Mirwaiz was detained outside his Nigeen residence as soon as he tried to march towards the Martyrs Graveyard, Naqshband Sahib shrine at Khawaja Bazar in old City Srinagar.

Police detained the Mirwaiz and lodged him at Nigeen police station, sources said.
