Srinagar,  31 jul:  Jammu and Kashmir Governor NN Vohra is not getting any further extension as New Delhi has decided to appoint new Governor for the state, said a report.

Quoting sources, NDTV reported that the government of India has decided not to continue with Vohra.

Incumbent J&K Governor Vohra has handled the charge of the volatile state for more than a decade. “Vohra will not be given another term. Search is on for a new face and one of the contenders is a former home secretary,” the report said.

Jammu and Kashmir has been under Governor’s Rule since June 20, after  the BJP ended its coalition government with Mehbooba Mufti’s People’s Democratic Party (PDP), saying it was “untenable” to continue because of security concerns and rising violence.   (Agencies)
