President to meet ailing Karunanidhi in Chennai

Chennai, Aug 3  :   President Ram Nath Kovind is visiting this state capital on Sunday to meet DMK President M Karunanidhi, who is undergoing treatment at Kauvery Hospital, here.
Police sources said the President will visit Kauvery hospital to enquire about the health condition of Mr Karunanidhi.
Earlier, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, Congress President Rahul Gandhi, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palanisamy and Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam had met the senior political leader in hospital.
Defence Minister Nirmala Sitaraman, other state ministers and various political party leaders visited Kauvery Hospital and enquired about Mr Karunanidhi.
The veteran, who was admitted to Kauvery Hospital here, after his blood pressure dropped on July 27, has been advised an extended hospital stay.
On July 18, he underwent a procedure at the same hospital, to replace a tracheotomy tube, helping him breathe normally.
