SOPORE: Two militants of Hizbul Mujahideen were killed in encounter with security forces in Sopore.

The slain militants were identified as Aijaz Ahmad Mir of Brath Kalan and Basharat Ahmad Sheikh of Bomai Sopore.

Meanwhile, Police sources claimed that soon after a grenade was hurled on the Sopore police station yesterday, the thrower was caught on a CCTV camera. Police said that after establishing his identity, the police reached to a house in Nathipora village where the two militants were hiding.

The police claimed that the slain militants were behind yesterdayโ€™s grenade attack on police station in Sopore in which four policemen were injured.

Huge army and ammunition have been recovered from the possession of the slain militants., police said.
