Srinagar: Train service was suspended on Friday as a “precautionary measure” in south Kashmir, where a militant was killed in a shootout with government forces in Rinzipora area of Awantipora today morning.

A rail official said in wake of Pulwama incident, train service between Banihal and Srinagar will remain suspended today as a ‘precautionary measure.

However, train service between Srinagar to Baramulla will run as per schedule,” he said.

Earlier today, a militant identified as Ishfaq Yousuf Wani, a resident of Qoil village of Pulwama, of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen outfit was killed in a brief shootout in Awantipora.

The reports said that two militants, however, managed to escape from the spot.

Following the killing of the militant, clashes broke out in Pulwama areas
