Srinagar, March 17 : National Conference (NC) legislator, Muhammad Akbar Lone on Sunday used abusive language against Modi government for banning the Jamaat e Islamia in Jammu and Kashmir.

Mohammad Akbar Lone while addressing media on the sidelines of a function at Handwara said that Modi govt should not ban the Jamaat-e-Islami as this will make people of Jammu and Kashmir more violent.

Earlier, People’s Democratic Party chief Mehbooba Mufti termed the decision an example of the government’s “high-handedness and muscular approach” to deal with Kashmir’s political issue.

Pertinently, last month centre banned Jamaat-e-Islami and declared the group an “unlawful association”.
