SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly today passed the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Bill by voice vote amid walk-out by the entire opposition.
Speaker Kavinder Gupta immediately after the GST Bill passage announced that the House has been adjourned sine-die.
Now the Legislative Council (LC) is meeting in the afternoon to pass the GST Bill.
Special four-day session was called by the Speaker and chairman of LC to discuss and implement the GST in the state.
Both the Houses later passed Resolution on GST before Cabinet approved it and sent it (Resolution) to Government of India (GoI) for Presidential assent. (UNI)
