Srinagar, Apr 21: Asserting that Jammu and Kashmir is among the best performers in containing and testing Coronavirus, Deputy Commissioner Shahid Iqbal Choudhary on Tuesday asked people to continue with mutual faith and follow advisories to fight the infection.

Dr Choudhary urged people not to lower their guard and stay vigilant as the situation is improving.

“Thanks to all the efforts. J&K among best performers in containment & testing. Let’s continue with mutual faith & trust, follow the advisories. We are improving every day. No lowering of guard. Stay vigilant. #StayHome,” Dr Choudhary wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.

Appreciating the role of government employees, he said slow in action, high on files and wide on red tape, if this is all you always imagined about civil servants, then please take a second thought in backdrop of Covid-19 response.

Meanwhile, the district administrations in Kashmir valley have been directed to ensure proper functioning of non-COVID health institutions so that people do not face any difficulty in view of lockdown to curtail the spread of Coronavirus.

Over 30 movement passes issued to officials and others were cancelled on Monday in Srinagar after being found to be misused during Dr Choudhary’s surprise inspection around the city.

The Coronavirus cases in Kashmir valley have crossed the 300-mark on Monday while four people have died due to the infection so far.
