Bandipora, Apr 22, KNT: A youth from North Kashmir’s Bandipora district who had been languishing in Uttar Pradesh Jail under Public Safety Act reached home after his release.

Police sources told Kashmir News Trust that Lateef Ahmed Malla son of Ghulam Mohiuddin, a resident of Ashtango Bandipora was arrested after the abrogation of special status in Jammu and Kashmir in August last year.

Subsequently, he was booked under Public Safety Act vide order number DMB/44/PSA/19 and shifted to Ambedkar Jail in Uttar Pradesh.

Sources added that he was released from Ambedkar Jail two weeks ago but was quarantined in a school at Srinagar. After completing his quarantine period, he was allowed to go to his home.

Pertinently, earlier a youth from Bandipora identified as Adil Bashir Mir who was also arrested last year in August was shifted to Srinagar Central Jail from UP’s Ambedkar Jail.
