Budgam, Jan 22: In an overnight blaze a Dar-ul-Uloom and house were gutted in a fire in two areas of central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
An official told news agency Kashmir Dot Com- (KDC) that fire broke out in Darul Uloom Syed Hafsa Islamiya Galwanpora at Hyderpora during the intervening night of Thursday-Friday. Twenty students who were staying in this religious seminary were immediately evacuated to safer places, he said.
He said that fire tenders were pressed to douse the flames. However, this religious seminary was gutted completely in this overnight blaze.
In another incident at Kandhama Magam area of this district, a residential house was gutted in an overnight blaze. The house of one Mohammad Rafiq Matoo son of Ghulam Mohammad Matoo was gutted in this fire mishap.
The cause of fire at both places was not immediately known, however; police have taken the cognizance of fire incidents and have launched further investigations, he added. (KDC)
