Srinagar: Viral fever has gripped school children’s in Tral town of Pulwama district from last one month , creating tizzy among the parents now.
However, doctors said that the disease can be controlled by home care and medication and the people need not to be panic.
The parents said that after re-opening of schools following winter vacation, their children are suffering from fever, cough, and headache.
Doctors have told them that the children have been infected by viral disease called rhinovirus and Influenza 1 and 2.
“We are attending to at least 200 patients in a day. Out of which about 150 are suffering from the viral fever ,” Dr Tasaduq Hussain, paediatrician at Sub District Hospital Tral told Kashmir Age.
He further said that parents should not be panic as the infection can be treated and controlled by “domiciliary measures” (home care).
The pediatrician also advised the patients to give their children oral paracetamol and lot of water to drink.
“Some patients need to get hospitalized particularly those who have high fever and dehydration,” he said.
Meanwhile, People have blamed that only one paediatrician is catering whole children which is injustice for the people coming from far-off places of Tral.
They have requested the higher authorities to send one more child specialist for the hospital so that people may not suffer more in future.
