Agartala, Aug 11:The continuous downpour for past nine hours triggered flash flood mostly in West Tripura, Sepahijala and Khowai districts of Tripura and rendered more than 3,000 families so far homeless.
National Disaster and Rescue Force (NDRF) pressed at least eight boats in operation in Agartala since morning and as many as 2,800 families were rescued and shifted to 30 relief camps so far.
As many as seven houses were damaged and a 40-yrs old woman injured in house collapsed in Bishalgarh.
The water in river Howrah of Agartala has been flowing above danger level and entire stretches of eastern part of the city along the river were completely submerged.
However, disaster management authority has issued warning and district administration has taken extra effort to prevent any damage when water from Baramura range will flow down in the river.
