SRINAGAR | NOV 20 : In yet another example of communal harmony and brotherhood, around 3000 Muslims, gathered in Wussan village of Ganderbal district to attend the final rites of a local Kashmiri Pandit.

A large number of Muslims gathered at the house of Pandit Moti Lal Razdan, 65, after hearing about his demise. Moti Lal’s family did not migrate during the 1990s and has been residing in Wussan since 1984 with few other families of Pandit community.

“When we heard about his death, we felt that we have lost one of our family members,” said a local Muslim.

“It is the teaching Islam to help others irrespective of his/her religion,” he added. Muslims shouldered his coffin and arranged for wood for his cremation, he said.

Meanwhile, a few Kashmiri Pandits who had arrived to help the bereaved family expressed gratitude to the local Muslims. (PTK)
