Srinagar, Dec 16 : Refuting reports that a youth from Kulgam district has recently joined Hizbul Mujahideen (HM), police on Saturday said the youth had taken up arms in 2015.
A police spokesperson said apropos to the updates being circulated by anti-national elements through social media titled “New youth joined HM militant outfit”.
He said district police administration Kulgam has clarified that Hilal Ahmad Wani alias Maaz, a resident of Machwa, has joined HM militant outfit on July 14, 2015.
“Wani has done 10+2 and had later joined Physiotherapy Technician Course in Jammu which he had left after joining the militant ranks,” he added.
