Islamabad, Jan 15:ย  Hailing Pakistan government’s determination to eradicate polio from the country, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation chairman Bill Gates has announced to increase financial aid for Islamabad.

The announcement comes days after the United States suspended security assistance to the country.
This was reportedly mentioned in a letter sent by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to the Minister for National Health Services (NHS) Saira Afzal Tarar.
The letter, a copy of which is available with Pakistan Daily Dawn, suggests that Director General (DG) of Health Asad Hafeez should be chosen for communication between the ministry and the Foundation.
The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has routinely provided aid to Pakistan to help eradicate polio from the country.
