New Delhi, Jan 26 : The nation on Friday showcased its military might and cultural heritage on 69th Republic day with 10 Heads of State/Government from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) gracing the Republic Day Parade on the historic Rajpath.
Presence of Heads of State/Government from the ASEAN, signified India’s strengthening relations with the ASEAN and ASEAN nations, keeping in sync with our ‘Act East Policy’, which made the 69th Republic day special.
The parade ceremony commenced at the Amar Jawan Jyoti at India Gate where Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the nation in paying homage to the martyrs by laying a wreath. An eternal flame burns at the Amar Jawan Jyoti to commemorate the indomitable courage of our Armed Forces personnel who have made the supreme sacrifice in the service of the motherland.
