Srinagar: The Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) on Wednesday staged a sit-in protest in Downtown Srinagar outside the Kashmir’s grand mosque against the recent civilian killings in Shopian area of South Kashmir in forces action.  The JRL on the occasion called for Shopian march and appealed people to protest against the ‘gruesome’ killings.
Several leaders and activists of JRL including Muhammad Yasin Malik, Engineer Hilal Ahmad War, Sufi Mushtaq Ahmad, Yasmeena Raja, Advocate Yasir Dalal, Er Hafiz War, Sheikh Abdul Rashid, Noor Muhammad Kalwal, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, Umar Adil Dar, Jaffer Kashmir, Abdul Majid Wani, Devendar Singh, Muhammad Shafi Dar, and others on Wednesday held a sit-in protest against the killing of three civilians of Ganowpora Shopian in forces action.
 Holding placards which reads “Revoke AFSPA DAA” “Magistrate probe a farce” “Arrest the culprits,” the participants protested against indiscriminate and brutal killings of three youth. They said killing human beings in every form is cowardly and against humanity and such inhuman acts are being carried out as a norm in Kashmir.
The JRL on the occasion called for Shopian Chalo on Friday and appealed people to reach the venue in large numbers.
Pertinently, two youth were killed in Ganowpora Shopian last week, whereas one youth identified a Raies Ahmad succumbed to his injures this morning mounting the toll of deceased to three. (KNB)
