Srinagar: Internet services were suspended on Monday following the encounter between the government forces and militants in Drabgam village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Internet services were suspended shortly after clashes broke out near the encounter site in Drabgam. An official said that the decision to snap internet services was taken as a “precautionary measure” to ignore any untoward incident.

Two army men were injured in a gunfight so far.

Earlier, the joint team of Army, SOG and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation at Drabgam village.

As such the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants opened triggering off a gunfight.
