DDB approves 12179.92 lakhs, district capex budget 2018-19
RAMBAN, May 14: Minister for Horticulture, Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs Syed Basharat Ahmed Bukhari today chaired District Development Board (DDB) meeting of district Ramban, and stressed upon the departments connected with livelihood of common public of the district to improve income by providing job opportunity for their better life.
Vice-Chairman Advisory Board for Development of Gujjars & Bakerwals, Gulzar Ahmed Khatana, MLA Gool-Arnas, Aijaz Ahmed Khan, MLA Banihal, Vikar Rasool Wani, MLA Ramban, Neelam Kumar Langeh, MLC Sham Lal Bhagat, District Development Commissioner Ramban Tariq Hussain Ganai, HODs and District Officers attended the meeting.
The Minister, who is also Chairman of the Board, directed maintenance of effective communication between district administration and political representatives adding that respective members of legislature should be taken on board while taking up new works in their constituencies and due consideration should be given to their priorities besides conveying prompt response to their suggestions and queries.
The Minister called for prioritization of various pending works and projects on the basis of urgency thereby speeding up their completion before the closure of the current financial year.
He stressed upon the administration for timely decision making, effective communication and follow up for streamlining implementation for the overall development of the district.
Earlier, the District Development Commissioner briefed the meeting about the physical and financial progress achieved under different schemes in the district.
The meeting was informed that district has achieved 98.85 per cent financial achievement against total availability of funds.
After taking various decisions in the DDB meeting, the DDB approved CAPEX budget 2018-19 amounting to Rs. 12179.92 lakhs that comprises Rs. 1624.05 lakhs under Loan component, Rs.1117.87 lakhs under regular schemes, Rs. 7.27 lakhs under loan state share, Rs. 8592.58 lakhs under central share, Rs. 838.15 lakhs under state share for centrally sponsored schemes.
Later, Minister convened meeting with representatives of construction agencies working on prestigious four laning project of NH-1A from Nashri to Jawaharlal tunnel and Railways for resolving confronting issues and reviewing progress of national projects.
He reviewed the progress made by the companies under Railways and National highway four laning . He directed the concerned authorities to ensure smooth passage of the traffic by maintaining potholes and drainages, installation of signboards besides ensuring proper maintenance of NH1A at all crucial places.
He directed the officers of department and agencies keeping in view importance of four laning project to speed up the work so that a safe and stable road connectivity can be provided to the people
He also directed the companies to restore water sources affected due to construction works being executed under Railways and four laning projects. He exhorted upon the construction companies to provide employment to locals on priority basis.
