SRINAGAR, MAY 14 : Hurriyat (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Monday slams the Jammu and Kashmir government over unavailability of basic amenities in Srinagar’s Jamia Masjid.

Taking to micro blogging website, Mirwaiz said: “Held an Auqaf meeting to take stock of preparations for holy month of #Ramadhan .Civil admin totally defunct especially the SMC! Total apathy towards #JamaMasjid and its surroundings, Even basic amenities not available! Why such apathy and callousness I ask ?”.

Jamia Masjid in downtown Srinagar remains abuzz with activities, where people get involved in reading religious texts and offering prayers during the holy month of Ramadhan.
