Srinagar: A shutdown is being observed in the Kashmir valley on the death anniversaries of late Mirwaiz Mohammad Farooq and Abdul Gani Lone.
The shutdown call has been given by resistance leaders.
Mirwaiz Mohammad Farooq was killed on May 21, 1990 while Lone was killed on May 21, 2002 by unknown gunmen.
All shops and business establishments are closed while as public transport is mostly off the roads.
Reports of shutdown have reached from all the district headquarters of the valley.
Authorities have imposed restrictions in parts of Srinagar city to prevent a march called by resistance leaders to Eidgah ground Srinagar to commemorate the death anniversaries of late Mirwaiz and Lone.
