Interacts with patients, urged hospital authorities to ensure better health care.

Ganderbal, 23 May: MLA Ganderbal Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar today visited District Hospital, Ganderbal, to reviews it’s functioning.

During the inspection of different sections of the 200 bedded districtย  hospital, the MLA was briefed by the Chief Medical Officer about the facilities available in the hospital, the statement said.

The MLA conducted detailed round of various blocks of the hospital which is being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 52.56 crore.

He was informed that out of DPR cost of Rs. 52.56 crore, expenditure to the tone of Rs 39.80 crore has been made so far.

Besides, Ishfaq also inspected the installation of sensitive mechanical machineryย  installed in the new building.

MLA Ganderbal emphasized that JKPCC shall also expedite the work on remaining OPD and other blocks of the hospital.ย  MLAย  directed the concerned officer for opening a canteen in the hospital. He also directed them to take utmost care of the quality of work in this prestigious project.

MLA was informed that the OPD and other blocks will be completed within a month.

Interacting with patients, Ishfaq asked about the facilities being provided to them. The MLA also heard their demands and grievances. He urged the hospital authorities to ensure better healthcare.

He also interacted with the doctor’s and paramedicos and enquired about the facilities. MLA Ganderbal advised doctor’s to prescribe the medicine which is available in the hospital so that the poor patients may not suffer.

MLA Ganderbal who is also the chairman of RKY directed the concerned officer’s for free treatment, diagnostics, tickets and other facilities for specially abled persons.

During the visitย  the MLA was accompanied by CMO Ganderbal, Medical Superintendent, Deputy General Manager JKPCC, and other concerned engineers and officers.

It is pertinent to mention here thatย  Work on the hospital building was started in 2009. It is due to efforts of MLA Ganderbal thatย  one block has been completed and will be inaugurated in next few days, the statement added.
