PATTAN: On the directions of Tehsildar Pattan, Naib Tehsildar  Zhoor Ahmad accompanied by officers from Municipal Committee and Police today conducted market checking in Pattan Area.
The checking was aimed at ensuring the quality and price control and to keep vigil on erring traders.
During the inspection, the checking team realized fine of Rs 3500 on various shopkeepers for violating the legal regulations. They also destroyed one and a half Qnl. contaminated vegetables and fruits.
Meanwhile,  Tehsildar Pattan Syed Faheem said that such drives will be conducted on routine basis so that quality of commodities is ensured. He urged traders not to violate the rules besides displaying the rate lists at their respective trade centers. Moreover the Tehsildar also warned the shopkeepers to maintain genuine rate during the holy month  of Ramadan, failing which shall render action against the violators.
