Varanasi, May 28 : The Centre as well as the Uttar Pradesh government have geared up for the Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas to be held in the city, the parliamentary constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in January next.

UP government has already set up committees for the grand event from January 21 to 23, 2019 having an
option to participate in Kumbha Snan and attend the Republic Day parade in New Delhi.

Officials here on Monday said Mr Modi will inaugurate the Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas on January 21 and President Ramnath Kovind will be present during the closing day function.

There is also a provision being made for the participants to take part in the Kumbh Snan in Allahabad between January 24-25 for which 9 fully air-conditioned trains would be made available.

In Allahabad, 5000 rooms would be reserved for the NRIs while in Varanasi similar number of room have been blocked at different hotels for the Diwas.

Officials said on the opening day of the Diwas on January 21, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath would host a dinner for the NRIs while BJP MP from Mathura Hema Malani and her troupe would perform.
