Srinagar, May 31 : A day after the work on Jehangir Chowk-Rambagh resumed the traffic in city centre Lal Chowk was chocked for hours forcing even ministers and top bureaucrats to walk on foot to reach their destinations.
KNS city correspondent reported that no Basant Rath effect was visible in the city centre as traffic was chocked on all the roots and even ministers and top bureaucrats found it difficult to get their vehicles cleared from the traffic jams forcing them to walk on foot to reach their destinations.
Several top ministers and senior government functionaries including a few IAS officers left their vehicles at Sonawar and walked on foot to their offices in city centre Lal Chowk.
As people while caught in traffic jam the traffic cops were found missing at the traffic regulation points forcing the youth to voluntarily come out for clearing the traffic after several hours of jamming. The venders, eyewitness said were again back on foot paths and even trying to pull their carts in the middle of the roads at Hari Singh High Street, Jehangir Chowk crossing, Hazuribagh and Maharaj Bazar.
