Srinagar: Violent protests erupted in south Kashmirโ€™s Pulwama on Monday soon after rumour went around that a local youth is among those killed in Tangdar sector last month by the army.
Two families in south Kashmir have so far claimed as their kin two of the five alleged infiltrating militants killed in Tangdar sector last month by the army.
According to police sources, the said families include that of Sheeraz Ahmad Sheikh of Lajoora Pulwama and Mudasir Ahmad of Parigam, Kulgam.
Sheeraz was reported missing since September 2017 and Mudasir since July 2016.
On Monday, scores of people in Pulwama hit the streets and claimed that second youth killed was Shiraz Ahmad, a resident of Lajoora, Pulwama.
The protesters pelted rocks on forces resulting in chaos in the town where shopkeepers pulled down their shutters.
Sheeraz is reported missing since September 2017.(Agencies)
