New Delhi, June 23Â : Commercial services will commence on the Mundka-Bahadurgarh Metro corridor from June 24.
‘Commercial services are likely to commence on the Mundka Bahadurgarh Metro corridor from 1600 hrs on Sunday,’ a DMRC spokesperson said.
On June 1, the Commissioner for Metro Rail Safety had given mandatory approval for the start of passenger operations on Mundka-Bahadurgarh section of Delhi metro’s Green Line subject to the fulfillment of certain conditions and stipulation.
It is a 11.2 kms long section between Mundka and Bahadurgarh.
This corridor will be the extension of the Inderlok – Mundka Green Line.
Total number of stations on Mundka-Bahadurgarh section are seven and all are elevated.
In Delhi, there are four stations–Mundka industrial Area, Ghevra, Tikri Kalan and Tikri Border. In Haryana, there are three stations–Modern Industr ial Estate, Bus Stand and City Park.
This entirely elevated section will not only connect the capital city with Bahadurgarh but will also provide connectivity to many outer Delhi areas of the western fringes of the city such as Mundka, Ghevra, Tikri Kalan etc.
After the completion of this corridor, the entire Inderlok – Bahadurgarh section will become 26.33 kilometres long, the spokesperson said.
Mundka-Bahadurgarh section will be Delhi Metro’s third connectivity to the neighbouring state of Haryana.
Metro Services are already operational in the Gurugram and Faridabad cities of Haryana now.
‘With the opening of this section, the Delhi Metro network will expand to 288 kilometres with 208 Metro stations,’ the spokesperson added.
