Srinagar: Chiefs of two factions of Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Geelani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Moday extended congratulations to Recep Tayyip Erdogan for his success in the presidential elections of Turkey.
“Our long and painful walk to freedom demands and deserved more practical and concrete steps from every freedom loving nation especially the collective forum of Muslim countries—so that there is an end to our sufferings and we are allowed to live an honourable and peaceful life,” Geelani said in a statement.
“We are all praise for his moral support to our cause and hope Tayyip Erdogan will play a pivotal and impressive role for peaceful solution of Kashmir issue.”
Mirwaiz also congratulated the Turkey president Erdogan for winning the presidential election
“Congratulations to Turkey’s President @RT_Erdogan, an ardent supporter of Kashmiris right to self-determination on winning the Presidential elections. Our prayers and best wishes are with the people of Turkey,” he tweeted.
