Pulwama, Jun 26 : Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Pulwama, Mohd Ahsan Mir today distributed Assertive devices including four wheel chairs, two CP chairs, four hearing Aid, twenty three MSIED kits, four crutches, and six rolator among differently-abled children during a camp organized by Chief Education Office Pulwama at Central Boys high School Pulwama under Sarva Shiksha Abiyan.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC said that our motive should be the development and the evolution of a society that is aware and sensitive of persons with disabilities, where each one is given equal opportunities. He said by empowering the differently-abled, educating the care-givers and sensitizing the general public, we dream of a world where the differently-abled are no longer considered a burden.
It was said that the same camps will be organized in Pampore and Tral zone also.
On the occasion parents and relatives of the children and other concerned were also present. (KNS)
