New Delhi, June 27 : In what promises further relief to people of Delhi from the heat wave of the past few weeks, the South West Monsoon is expected to arrive in the capital city in the next two days, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Wednesday .
Forecasting heavy to very heavy rain across different states in the country including Delhi for the next two days, the IMD said,’the South West monsoon is expected to cover the entire country in the next two days.’
According to the Met Department, heavy to very heavy rain is very likely to occur on Thursday at isolated places over Delhi, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Sub Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Coastal Karnataka.
The weather office has also forecast possibility of heavy rain at isolated places over Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Assam , Meghalaya, Konkan, Goa, South Interior Karnataka, Tamilnadu, Puducherry and Kerala.
For Friday, the Met Department has forecast heavy to very heavy Rain at isolated places over Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, West Uttar Pradesh, Sub¬ Himalayan West Bengal , Sikkim and Coastal Karnataka.
Heavy rain is very likely to occur at isolated places over Jammu & Kashmir, East Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya,Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Konkan, Goa, south interior Karnataka, Tamilnadu, Puducherry and Kerala.
Delhi recieved its first pre monsoon showers on Wednesday, bringing much needed relief for people of Delhi from the heat wave of the past weeks. A total of 3.4 mm of rainfall was recorded in the city .
