Srinagar: Three militants were killed in a fierce gunfight with government forces in south Kashmir’s Pulwama on Friday, police said.

“All three terrorists eliminated. Good job boys,” Police Chief S P Vaid tweeted while confirming the killing of three militants.

However, the identity of the slain militants was not ascertained immediately.

Earlier, a youth was killed after he was hit with a bullet fired by government forces during clashes with forces near the gunfight site.

Faizan Ahmad Khan, who was hit on chest was a resident of Ladhoo village and a student of class 9th.

Doctors at District Hospital Pulwama confirmed to Kashmir Reader the killing of Faizan.

More than ten youth sustained injuries in government forces action as clashes between protesters and forces erupted in the south town of Pulwama during the gunfight between militants and forces.

Protesters pelted government forces with rocks and tried to disrupt their operation against the holed up militants.

Official sources said that the gunfight between the holed up militants and Government forces broke out in Chatepora area of the town. KR
