Salem, June 30 : Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami said the Chennai-Salem Greenfield expressway project is a Central government project and the state government role is only to acquire lands for the project.
Talking to newsmen at the Airport here on Saturday, he said the vehicles movement has been increased and it is necessary to construct a 8 way line road.
It is the duty of the government to construct roads to avoid accidents, he said, adding that using the latest technologies, the 8-way line would be constructed.
He said proper compensation will be given to those parting lands for the greenfield expressway project.
To a question, Mr Palaniswami said the Opposition is politicising the project and spreading wrong information to the public.
