Srinagar: Mobile internet service continue to remain suspended for the third consecutive day across south Kashmir, where three people, including a girl were shot dead by army on Friday.

Locals told Kashmir Reader over phone that the various cellular companies, including the state-run Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) have not restored mobile internet services across south Kashmir that were suspended after 3 civilians, including a teenage girl were shot dead by army in Hawura area of Kulgam during a cordon and search operation on Friday last.

The internet clampdown, the locals said, was aimed to prevent dissemination of information over Friday’s civilian killings.

Meanwhile, internet service was restored after two days in north and Central Kashmir, including the summer capital Srinagar on Sunday night.(Agencies)
