Srinagar 10 jul: Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) on Tuesday called for a protest shutdown against what it called “atrocities on common people” in south Kashmir’s Shopian.

A youth was killed and scores sustained injuries in Kundalan area of the town during a gunfight between militants and government forces.

Two militants were also killed in the forces operation.

Sources in the JRL said “a complete shutdown will be observed against the killings and other atrocities by Indian forces”.

“JRL appeals for complete shutdown and protest against continuous civilian killings,” sources quoting JRL leaders said.
