Shopian:ย A teenager was killed after government forces opened fire upon a group of protesters near the encounter spot in Kundalan village of this south Kashmir district.

16-year-old Tamseel Khan, son of Khurshid Ahmad of Vehil, Kachdoora, was critically injured after government forces opened fire upon a group of people, who were protesting against the cordon and search operation inย Kundalan village here this afternoon, witnesses told Kashmir Reader.

Tamseel, who was hit by a bullet on his head, was pronounced dead on his arrival at the Srinagarโ€™s SMHS hospital.

Over twenty people, mostly youth were injured after government forces used tear smoke shells, fired pellets and live ammunition to quell anti-India demonstration near the encounter spot. At least four civilians sustained bullet injuries during the clashes.(Agencies)
