Srinagar: Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) chief Syeda Asiya Andrabi and her two associates on Monday were sent to 30 days judicial custody by NIA court in New Delhi.

NIA produced Andrabi along with her associates Nahida Nasreen and Fehmeeda Sofi in Delhiโ€™s NIA Court in connection with two separate cases registered against them, reports said.

The court sent Asiya and her aides to 30 days judicial custody.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has registered a case of sedition against Asiya Andrabi, chief of the womenโ€™s pro-freedom group and two of her aides.

The NIA filed an FIR against Andrabi on April 26 for allegedly advocating secession of Jammu and Kashmir from the Union of India and calling for Jihad and use of violence against the country.

Andrabi, wife of jailed pro-freedom leader Dr Qasim Faktoo, was named in an earlier NIA case in which Hafiz Saeed and Hizbul Mujahideen supremo Syed Salahuddin were chargesheeted.(Agencies)
