Srinagar, July 19: A joint team of Police and Army cordoned off the Batpora area of Handwara district this afternoon.
Reports reaching GNS said that as joint team of Police and Army closed onto the suspected spot the hiding militants fired upon goverment forces triggering an encounter.
Intermittent exhcange of firing was going on till this report was filed.(GNS)
