 SRINAGAR :  Kashmiri Language Degree holders and scholars Wednesday staged a protest here in Press Enclave Srinagar demanding Kashmiri Subject be made compulsory for class 9th and 10th.

   The degree holders and scholars who were carrying placards and banners Kashmiri subject should be made and treated compulsory for class 9th and 10th in both government and private recognized schools.

   The protesting scholars urged upon Director Education to make all arrangements in educational institutions so that this subject could be taught like other subjects.

   Director School Education said that Kashmiri, Dogri and Bodhi subjects have already been made compulsory for class 9th and 10th in all Government and Private schools of the state as 6th subject in areas where such languages are spoken as mother tongue.
