Mumbai, Jul 30 : The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange
(BSE) on Monday rallied by 155 points to 37,491.35 a new record high
in opening trade ahead of RBI policy meet beginning today.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) too rose by 18 points to
11,296.65.
The sectoral indices like Materials, Energy, FMCG, Telecom and
Utilities kept the market firm in early trade.
In scrips like SBI, VEDL, ONGC and M & M rallied while selling
in Wipro, HDFC Bank, Infosys and Kotak Bank capped from further
decline, broker informed.
The gainers were SBIN by 2.69 pc to Rs 294.30, VEDL by 2.09 pc to
Rs 224.40, ONGC by 1.89 pc to Rs 164.35 and M & M by 1.46 pc to Rs
923.
The losers were Wipro by 1.64 pc to Rs 270, HDFC Bank by 1.24 pc
to Rs 2176, Infosys by 1.13 pc to Rs 1359 and Kotak Bank by 1.07 pc
to Rs 1297.
