Srinagar, July 26: Police claimed to have averted a major tragedy by detecting and diffusing an IED planted by militants in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

A team of army, police and CRPF detected an IED fitted in a bucket along Handoora-Tral road this evening, SP Awantipora Mohammad Zahid told Kashmir Reader. The SP said that the IED was diffused by the bomb disposal squad without causing any damage.
