Srinagar: North Kashmir district of Kupwara is observing complete shutdown on Friday to mourn the killings of two local militants by government forces yesterday.

Two militants, Zahoor Ahmad Mir of Thayan Kalaroos and Bilal Ahmad Shah of Shatmuqam village of Kupwara were killed during a brief shootout with government forces in Shumriyal Lolab area of Kupwara.

Local sources said that all the shops, business establishmentsโ€™, government and private offices remained closed while traffic was off the roads in Trehgam, Kupwara, Lolab and other adjoining areas of the district.
