Srinagar: A complete shutdown is being in North Kashmir’s Sopore town and its adjoining areas to mourn the killing of local militant Reyaz Ahmed Dar, a resident of Naseer abad Sopore.

Dar was killed alongwith his associate, Khursheed Ahmed a Pulwama resident on Friday during an encounter between the government forces and militants in Drussu area of Rafiabad’s Watergam.

All shops and other business establishments are closed while traffic is also thin on roads.

The government forces have been deployed at many locations in the town to thwart any protests.

Authorities have already closed all educational institutions in Sopore division as “a precautionary measure”.
