Mumbai, Aug 9 : The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange
(BSE) on Thursday breached 38K level to 38,061.06 a life time high,
advancing by 174 points in opening trade, despite weak global cues
as trade war fears between US and China escalated.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) too rose by 45 points to
11,495.20.
The Sensex registered intra day high ane low at 38,061.06 and
37,953.50 respectively.
The Nifty recorded intra day high and low at 11,495.20 and
11,454.10 respectively.
Sectoral indices like Energy, FMCG, Industrials, IT and Telecom
stocks kept the market firm in opening trade.
The gainers were ICICI Bank by 5.36 pc to Rs 335.25, SBIN by 1.96
pc to Rs 314.70, Axis Bank by 1.87 pc to Rs 607.55 and Infosys
by 1.58 pc to rs 1384.50.
The loses were Bharti Airtel by 4.43 pc to Rs 367.05, ONGC by
1.69 pc to Rs 169, Maruti Suzuki by 1.30 pc to Rs 9090 and HDFC Bank
by 1.08 pc to Rs 2113.70.
