An official said that residential guard of MLC Showkat Ganai, a resident of Chitragam Kalan in district Shopian was attacked by the Militants. However, the guards present there retaliated and the militants fled away.

The official added that this was probably the weapon snatching attempt, adding that Ganai was not present when his residence was attacked.

However, there were no immediate reports of any loss. (Agencies)
