Srinagar, Aug 20 : As usual the payments of newspapers empanelled with the department of Information were not been disbursed even today (Monday) when only one day is left for Eid-ul-Azha and famous Holly hindu festival Rakhsha Bandhan is round the corner.
Several owners of the news papers sought the intervention of high ups of the Information Department but the bills are yet to reach respective treasuries in Srinagar and Jammu.
It is in place to mention here that while the salaries of government employees are disbursed several days before Eid every year but the payments of news papers are released just 24-30 hours before the Eid every year.
A top official told KNS that Joint Directors in Srinagar and Jammu have forwarded the bills to treasuries in Srinagar and Jammu and payments are likely to be disbursed in the afternoon tomorrow (Tuesday).
