Directs authorities to set up grievance cells in all dists

Srinagar, Aug 25 : While directing authorities to urgently open grievance cells in all districts, the Governor Satya Pal Malik has said that reinforcing good governance and delivering results urgently on the developmental front will be topmost priority of the state administration.
Sources told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that the governor chaired a meeting with top officials to review the functioning of the state governmentโ€™s Grievance Cell and the current status of the complaints lodged on-line by the general public onย www.jkgrievance.in.
Sources said that the governor also directed that grievance cells should be urgently opened in all districts under the supervision of Deputy Commissioners. โ€œThe Deputy Commissioners concerned will personally hear grievances at least once a week,โ€ he has ordered.
Sources further told KNS that Governor directed that an immediate notice should be issued to inform the public that they should continue to register their complaints and grievances online at the web portalย jkgrievance.in, which is being maintained both at Jammu and Srinagar.
The Governor decided that while his office shall watch the progress of enquiries/investigations he shall personally monitor all grievances/complaints to ensure that they are timely and fruitfully dealt with.
Sources said that Governor has stated that any member of the public, who has any complaint/grievance, should feel free to register his complaint on-line atย www.jkgrievance.in.
He added that complainants may also contact the officers who have been made in charge of grievances on the landline numbers, (0194) 2502591 and 2501262 for Kashmir division, and (0191) 2566182 for Jammu division.
Moreover, those who are unable to register their complaint online may forward the complaints to his office.
Sources added that the governor has also directed officers of the Grievance Cell to ensure against any delay whatsoever in seeking reports from the concerned officers/departments and further ensure that the complainant is informed thereafter.
โ€œAll cases in which a complaint/grievance has not been satisfactorily settled shall be put up to Governor who is entrusting responsibility on Chief Secretary.
