Srinagar: People in thousands, belonging to different Pulwama areas on Monday attended the funeral prayers of the youth who was killed in government forces firing in south Kashmir village, as per reports.

The slain youth namely Fayaz Ahmad Wani (29) son of Mohammad Ahsan Wani a resident of Chewa Kalan, village of Pulwama was killed after government forces fired on protesters during clashes which erupted amid a massive crackdown on more than twelve villages in the district.

Fayaz Ahmad was critically wounded in forces fire and was shifted to SMHS, Srinagar, where he succumbed. Officials as SMHS hospital confirmed the succumbing of Fayaz.

People were attending the slain youth’s Nimaz-e-Jinaza raised high pitched anti-India slogans after which people were seen crying, witnesses said. Fayaz was later laid to rest amid sobs and emotional scenes.
