Srinagar: The Congress party on Wednesday said that the situation prevailing in Valley is not conducive to hold the upcoming local bodies polls.

President JKPCC,  G.A. Mir was addressing a presser here and said that no one from Central government, the governor administration and the Election commission has said a word about who will be responsible for the repercussions that will unfold in this exercise.

“Any one participating in the process has to cross barriers, challenges and threats but who will take responsibility of the repercussions that will unfold since the situation in valley is not conducive for the polls to be conducted,” Mir said.

Mir said that the confusion, uncertainty and chaos is currently prevailing in administration as well as in Government of India over the conduct of polls.

“Let them clear their stand over holding the elections. Situation at present is not conducive for polls, ” Mir said adding that

State congress will be sending party leaders to New Delhi to hold deliberations with party high command over taking final call to boycott or participate in polls.
